Meaning of Blood Check Results and Normal Range Value

After having your blood checked, you can give the test results to your doctor to determine your diagnosis and health needs, whether you need medical treatment or other medication.

Please continue to consult your doctor about the results of your blood tests, and do not diagnose the disease yourself.

Types of Blood Tests Normal Range Value Meaning of Blood Test Results
Haemoglobin 13.5 – 18.0 g/dL Hemoglobin below normal indicates a possible blood deficiency, possibly due to production disorders or the risk of acute or chronic bleeding, including anaemia, thalassemia, iron deficiency, stomach ulcers, or kidney disease. High haemoglobin may indicate a production disorder, such as polycythemia vera (a blood disorder that causes the body to produce too many red blood cells).
LED 0 – 15 mm/jam LED is Blood Ediction Rate. This test shows whether there are abnormalities in the rate at which blood settles or clots. One way to establish a diagnosis is whether the patient has inflammation or not—for example, viral infections, allergies, or auto-immunity.
Leukocytes 3.6 – 10.6 10³/pL High leukocyte blood test results indicate that the patient’s body has an infection or a disease that the body is fighting. Indicates the body’s immune system is abnormal. High leukocytes can also indicate excessive production in the bone marrow or the possibility of blood cancer. Some infections do not show high leukocytes even though there is an infection, for example, typhoid. Viral infections generally do not cause high leukocytes. Low leukocytes can indicate a disturbance in leukocyte production in the bone marrow or consumption of drugs that suppress the immune system (for example, chemotherapy) or certain cancers.
Hematocrit 40 – 54%
Folic acid 4.6 – 34.8 ng/mL A high folic acid result indicates the patient has a diet rich in folic acid or is taking folic acid pills. High consumption of folic acid does not cause health problems. However, high folic acid levels can also occur in conditions of vitamin B12 deficiency. Because of vitamin B12 deficiency, folic acid cannot be used optimally. Low folic acid blood results can indicate eating disorders, excessive alcohol consumption, vitamin C deficiency, liver problems, and others. Mothers who want to get pregnant or mothers in early pregnancy must have sufficient folic acid.
Vitamin B12 191 – 663 pg/mL Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause megaloblastic anaemia (large blood cell size), so patients get tired easily, have muscle weakness and digestive problems, and may have permanent effects if not treated. Values above normal indicate liver disease.
D-dimer 0 – 500 ng/mL D-dimer results above normal indicate possible blood clotting problems. This test cannot show the type or location of clots in the body. High D-dimer conditions are generally caused by pregnancy, heart disease, recent surgery, a collision or infection in the body, blockages in blood vessels, heart/lung (embolic) disease, or leg vein thrombosis.
Blood Check for Liver
Albumin 3.5 – 5.2 g/dL This examination is carried out to see the health condition of a person’s liver and kidneys. Albumin test results below normal indicate the possibility of liver, kidney or other diseases. Meanwhile, albumin levels that are too high indicate the likelihood of dehydration.
AST / SGOT 5 – 34 U/L High SGOT laboratory results indicate the possibility of enzyme disorders in the liver and the muscles, heart, brain or kidneys. AST/SGOT far above normal indicates acute damage to the liver, such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, poisoning, or an overdose of over-the-counter medicines. In long-term liver damage, SGOT levels may decrease significantly, for example, in liver cirrhosis.
ALL / SGPT 0 – 55 U/L SGPT levels above normal indicate the possibility that a person consumes too much alcohol, acute hepatitis A and B, autoimmune diseases, liver disease, diabetes, and several other diseases.
Gamma GT 0 – 55 U/L This is done to see whether or not there is damage to the liver or bile ducts. Hepatitis, cirrhosis, alcohol consumption disorders, pancreatic disease, diabetes, and side effects from medications usually cause damage. The higher the Gamma GT number generally reflects the severity of the disease. Usually compared with the ALP test results.
Phosphatase alkaline (ALP) 40 – 129 U/L ALP is an enzyme found in various body parts, and much of ALP is found in the liver, bones, kidneys, and digestive system. Abnormal ALP levels in the blood indicate health problems in these organs, for example, liver disease, bone disorders and chronic kidney disease. ALP examination results above normal are generally followed by ALP isoenzyme or liver function examinations. High ALP in the liver indicates possible blockage of the bile ducts, cirrhosis, or hepatitis. It could also show signs of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, heart failure, or some infection. ALP levels below normal indicate the possibility of the patient having a zinc deficiency, malnutrition, or other conditions.
HbA1C Diabetes Mellitus >=6.5% Prediabetes 5.7 – 6.5% Therapy Target <7% This test is carried out to measure the average blood sugar level over the last 3 months. The higher the HbA1C value, the more it is associated with diabetes complications.
LDH 240 – 480% LDH is an enzyme found in almost all body tissues, including the blood, heart, kidneys, brain and lungs, released into the blood when tissue damage occurs. High LDH indicates possible damage to body tissue. LDH can also be done to check for anaemia (a sign of a lot of broken or damaged blood), liver disorders, lung disease, and some infections or to monitor chemotherapy results for certain types of cancer.
